Reijnders to leave Man City in £52m Saudi move
Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is heading for the Etihad exit door after Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah agreed a £51.2m package for his signature.
The 28-year-old Dutch international has already given the green light to the transfer, bringing a sudden end to his time in Manchester just 14 months after arriving from AC Milan in a £46.5m deal.
Reijnders enjoyed a bright start to life in England, registering seven goals and eight assists across 50 appearances in his debut campaign while helping City lift the FA Cup. However, his influence waned significantly over the second half of the season.
With City actively reshaping their midfield following the arrival of Elliot Anderson and ongoing interest in Chelsea star Enzo Fernández, Reijnders has found himself cleared for departure.
European sides including Juventus, Galatasaray, and Nottingham Forest had all been keeping tabs on the midfielder, but Al-Qadsiah moved aggressively to meet City’s valuation. The move will see the Premier League champions turn a modest profit on the Netherlands international.
