Inter Milan Thrash Monza 4-1 in Serie A Opener
Inter Milan secured a commanding 4-1 victory over visitors Monza this evening at the Giuseppe Meazza, in the opening round of the 2026-2027 Serie A season.
Hakan Çalhanoğlu opened the scoring early, netting in the sixth minute with a stunning strike to become the first player to find the net in the new Serie A campaign. Monza levelled the score through Gustavo Varela in the 29th minute, but Inter responded emphatically after the break, adding three further goals through Piotr Zieliński in the 48th minute, Bayo Esposito in the 55th, and Jan Aurel Bisseck in the 63rd to seal a 4-1 win.
The result gives Inter their first three points of the campaign as they look to defend their Serie A title, while Monza’s return to the top flight begins with a heavy defeat against the reigning champions.
The dominant start provides a significant morale boost for Cristian Chivu’s squad as they aim to retain the title and continue Inter’s recent dominance in Italian football.
