Messi Goal Not Enough as Inter Miami Fall to Toronto

Inter Miami suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Toronto in Major League Soccer, despite a late goal from Lionel Messi.
Toronto took the lead in the 59th minute through Josh Sargent, who was assisted by Saloui, before Derek Etienne doubled the visitors’ advantage three minutes later.
Messi pulled a goal back for Inter Miami in the 82nd minute, finishing off a Rodrigo De Paul assist, but the hosts were unable to find a leveller despite pushing for an equaliser in the closing stages.
Toronto held on to secure a 2-1 win and move up to 24 points, sitting tenth in the standings.
Inter Miami remain second overall on 39 points despite the defeat.
