The DFB handed down its expected judgement of Mainz 05 midfielder Dominik Kohr late Monday evening. The Bundesliga record holder for number of times ejected from a league match will be suspended for three league fixtures and fined €15,000 for his hard foul on Hoffenheim’s Max Moerstedt last Friday evening.
Kohr was threatened with an even harsher punishment after what all observers agreed was a reckless challenge that deserved a straight red. A four-match-ban would have effectively ended Kohr’s league play for the 2025 calendar year.
