Some were surprised that Bayern Munich midfielder Tom Bischof was omitted from Julian Nagelsmann’s latest call-up list for the German national team, but Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund did not want to focus on that sad news.
Instead, Freund wanted to talk about all the good that Bischof is doing.
“He certainly has the quality for the senior national team, he’s back with the U-21s now, is captain there, and will get plenty of playing time. We’re extremely happy he’s here. Even back in the summer, when he joined us, we were really convinced he had Bayern Munich potential, and he’s showing it now. He’s doing really well, even playing at left-back sometimes….
