Bayern Munich will not be forced to sign Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson permanently.

The Senegalese striker needed to start/play at least 45 minutes in at least 40 Bundesliga or Champions League games this season for his switch to become permanent. He has currently done so in six games. However, with 23 league games and a maximum of ten Champions League games left in the season, that quota can no longer be filled.

Even if Bayern had more games left, or if the deal included DFB-Pokal games, Jackson is likely to be called up for Senegal when they compete in the African Cup of Nations in the winter, which means a lengthy absence from his Bayern duties. So it seems Uli Hoeneß was right when…
