Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen addressed critics of the club’s squad-building policy by pointing out that by the numbers, Bayern’s senior side is actually reasonably equipped compared to Europe’s elite.

They’ve just been injured too many and at the same time.

”Our squad isn’t too small. Real Madrid have 25 players, Arsenal too, Liverpool have 27. PSG and FC Barcelona each have 23,” Dreesen said in an October interview on Welt AM Sonntag (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We have 25. And we have three long-term injured players in Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Hiroki Itō.
