Breaking: Bayern Munich extends contract of Vincent Kompany

In a relatively surprising move given the timing, Bayern Munich announced a two-year contract extension with head coach Vincent Kompany on its club website:

FC Bayern and Vincent Kompany have prematurely extended their contract until June 30, 2029. The head coach’s previous contract ran until summer 2027. Kompany (39) joined Säbener Straße from FC Burnley in England for the 2024/25 season. In their first season together, FC Bayern and their Belgian coach celebrated winning the German championship, and then the Super Cup at the beginning of this season.

Kompany was extremely happy to extend his stay in Bavaria to give him more time to work on a project that been very successful so far.
