Hamburger SV’s coach, Merlin Polzin, has announced that Bayern Munich loanee, Daniel Peretz, will start for HSV in their DFB-Pokal match away to FC Heidenheim. Polzin had this to say, “Daniel Peretz will be in goal… He has accepted the role, trains daily at a top level, and also has absolute leadership qualities. Therefore he has absolutely deserved to be in goal.” (as reported by @iMiaSanMia’s German page)
Peretz has been vocal since the beginning of his loan spell about his disappointment in the decision to not start him. He has even stated that the loan deal could be terminated early if he continues to be benched. It is good to hear from the HSV boss that he continues to work…
