The 30-year-old, once regarded as one of English football’s brightest prospects, was reportedly detained by police in the Bedfordshire town. Ibe first rose to prominence as a teenager at Wycombe Wanderers before securing a high-profile move to Liverpool in 2012. At Anfield, he was often compared to Raheem Sterling and made 58 appearances for the Reds, showing flashes of the pace and power that made him a regular for England’s U21 side.
In 2016, he moved to AFC Bournemouth for a then-club-record fee of £15 million. However, despite making over 90 appearances for the Cherries, he struggled to maintain consistent form and eventually departed as a free agent in 2020.
