Bremen’s Austrian midfielder felt his side played their best football today compared to recent outings despite the defeat.

Werder Bremen’s five-game unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt this afternoon as RB Leipzig inflicted a 2-0 defeat on their visitors. 

Despite the result, Romano Schmid took a lot of positives from the game and even felt his side performed better today than in recent outings.

“To be honest, in the five games before this, we didn’t play nearly as well as we did today,” said said the midfielder to DAZN, referring to the “conviction and will to help each other”.
