After a tumultuous week culminating in Edwards leaving, the club issued a statement thanking the fans for the atmosphere and support shown in that victory over Blues, saying, external: “The Riverside came together as one, players, staff, supporters, and you could feel the sense of unity which is at the core of this club.
“To everyone involved, we would like to say thank you.”
As Middlesbrough begin their search for a new head coach, they are second in the Championship.
They now have a 10-day wait for their next league fixture, away to Oxford United on Saturday 22 November.
