There still has not been a resolution between Bayern Munich and Dayot Upamecano regarding a new contract, despite the center-back recently alluding to the fact that he is very happy in Munich and is delighted that the club recently extended the contract of manager Vincent Kompany. Ever since the Belgian took charge of the club, Upamecano has found a solid level of consistency that he did not necessarily have under either Thomas Tuchel or Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern. He has enjoyed a strong start to the season and added his first goal of the campaign with a finely taken header in the 6–2 win over SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga.
