Despite picking up four wins on the trot, the German national team not only needed a result against Slovakia, but something to make fans feel hopeful about. Well, six goals later and you could physically feel the mood lighten in the German camp.

Germany showed no signs of an attack that has proved to be blunt at best, but rather showed there is a sharp point on the end of their attack.
