Union Berlin head coach Steffen Baumgart was not a fan of the ruling of offside on Ilyas Ansah’s seemingly good goal in the 10th minute of his squad’s 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich.
Baumgart (maybe rightfully) thought the decision was a joke.
“The first goal was a goal. To call offside by those 5 millimeters – and we’re literally talking about five millimeters – someone’s completely out of their mind,” Baumgart told Sky Germany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The ruling played a major role in the match and kept Union Berlin from cashing in on three points instead of just one after a fiery and intense effort.
