Sky Germany and Bild reports that Wolfsburg are set to part ways with head coach Paul Simonis following their 2-1 loss to Werder Bremen on Friday.

The loss at Bremen saw Wolfsburg allow two late goals for the hosts to win the game, and the result has left them in 14th, at the time of writing. 

Now it has been decided that Wolfsburg will part ways with the Dutch head coach. Under-19 head coach Daniel Bauer will now take charge while a successor is found. Former Hamburg and Hull head coach Tim Walter is one of the candidates linked to the role, as is ex-Union Berlin head coach Urs Fischer.
