UEFA confirm Daniel Siebert as referee for Champions League Final

German official Daniel Siebert has been appointed to referee the 2026 UEFA Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal. The 42-year-old, an international referee since 2015, will take charge of the showpiece event at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary, on Saturday, 30 May.
It marks a significant milestone for Siebert, who will be officiating his first major UEFA club competition final. He leads an all-German team of on-field officials, with assistants Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn joining him in the Hungarian capital.
Siebert is a familiar face to both finalists this season, having officiated nine matches in the current Champions League campaign. Notably, he was in the middle for Arsenal’s quarter-final first leg against Sporting Lisbon and their decisive semi-final second leg victory over Atlético Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain, the defending holders, will meet an Arsenal side appearing in their first Champions League final since 2006.
The video assistant referee (VAR) duties will also be handled by a German contingent, with Bastian Dankert appointed as the lead VAR official. He will be supported by Christian Dingert and Spain’s Carlos Del Cerro Grande. The appointment continues a busy period for Siebert, who featured in the officiating teams for both Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.
UEFA also confirmed the officiating teams for the other major finals on Monday, with the Europa League and Conference League appointments set to be finalised later this week.
