Jorge Jesus Appointed as Portugal head Coach
Jorge Jesus has been appointed as the new head coach of Portugal on a four-year contract.
The veteran manager takes over the national side with immediate effect, tasked with leading the country through the upcoming UEFA Nations League, Euro 2028, and the 2030 World Cup.
His first matches in charge will come during the next international break as Portugal looks to rebound from their Round of 16 exit at the 2026 World Cup.
Confirming the appointment, the Portuguese Football Federation released a short statement: “A new journey begins today. Welcome to the national team, Mr. Jorge Jesus.”
The former Benfica and Sporting CP boss is widely expected to build around Portugal’s current generation of world-class talent as they target a return to global and continental silverware..
