Bayern Munich Thrash Stuttgart 5-1 in Bundesliga Opener

Bayern Munich made a statement on the opening weekend of the new Bundesliga season, sweeping aside Stuttgart 5-1 at the Allianz Arena.
The visitors showed plenty of attacking intent early on and even rattled the crossbar, but it was the hosts who struck first when Dayot Upamecano powered home a header in the 21st minute.
Stuttgart came out firing after the break and were rewarded when Josha Vagnoman levelled the score. But what followed was a nightmare spell for the Stuttgart defender. Michael Olise restored Bayern’s lead soon after, before Vagnoman turned the ball into his own net moments later to hand the champions a two-goal cushion.
The closing stages belonged to substitute Ismaïla Sarr, who made an immediate impact with two assists. Sarr first teed up Aleksandar Pavlović before producing another telling pass in stoppage time to send Luis Díaz through on goal, rounding off a dominant afternoon for Bayern as they made the perfect start to their title defence.
