Official: Real Madrid left-back Fran Garcia joins Real Betis

Real Madrid have confirmed the departure of left-back Fran Garcia to fellow La Liga side Real Betis.
The European champions released a statement announcing they had reached a full agreement with Betis for the permanent transfer of the defender.
The club expressed their gratitude to the 26-year-old, praising his loyalty and “exemplary conduct” during his time in the Spanish capital.
Garcia originally joined Real Madrid’s youth academy in 2013 as a 14-year-old. After breaking into the first-team squad, he went on to make 110 appearances across three seasons, picking up five major trophies including the Champions League, La Liga, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
In their closing statement, Real Madrid wished Garcia and his family the best for the future, adding that the Bernabéu “will always be his home.”
While official financial terms were not disclosed, reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid will receive a fee of around €4m for the left-back, while also retaining a 50% sell-on clause.
