West Brom 3-1 Burnley: Isaac Price Double Helps Baggies Maintain Perfect Start
Isaac Price produced a sparkling individual display, scoring twice and setting up another, as West Bromwich Albion came from behind to beat Burnley 3-1 at The Hawthorns and maintain their 100% start to the Championship season.
Burnley made a bright start and took an eighth-minute lead when Jacob Bruun Larsen’s dangerous low cross was turned into his own net by West Brom defender Callum Styles. However, the hosts responded with poise, equalizing ten minutes later as Price teed up Harry Whitwell to sweep a low shot past Max Weiß.
James Morrison’s side turned the match completely on its head immediately after the interval. Just 60 seconds into the second half, Price picked up possession on the edge of the area and drove a precise finish into the bottom corner to complete the turnaround.
The Northern Ireland international sealed the points in the 65th minute, keeping his cool to convert from the penalty spot after a VAR check.
Without injured forward Zian Flemming amid transfer speculation, Nicky Hayen’s Clarets struggled to mount a response during a flat second-half performance. The victory leaves West Brom second in the early table with six points from two games, while Burnley remain winless since their return to the second tier.
