Rivers United team bus involved in road accident ahead of Federation Cup tie

Rivers United’s Federation Cup tie against Nasarawa United is in doubt after the team bus was involved in a road accident on Thursday.

​The Pride of Rivers were en route to Awka, Anambra State, for their Round of 16 clash when the incident occurred on the Obiri-Ikwerre Airport Road, shortly after departing their training camp in Port Harcourt.

​In an official club statement, Rivers United confirmed that while the vehicle sustained significant damage, no fatalities or critical injuries were reported.

​Several players and members of the coaching staff sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving medical assessment.
