Borussia Dortmund have signed Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri on loan until the end of the 2026/27 season to cover for the long-term injury absence of Giannis Konstantelias.

Dortmund’s executive director of sports affairs, Lars Ricken, said: “We have succeeded in signing a highly talented midfielder with exceptional technical abilities, and it was important for us to quickly strengthen the team after Konstantelias’s absence. We see that signing Ethan is the best solution from a sporting perspective.”

Nwaneri joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of eight and made history in September 2022 by becoming the youngest player in Premier League history at just 15 years, five months, and 28 days old.

The midfielder has made 51 first-team appearances, scoring 10 goals for the Gunners, and spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille, where he made 11 outings and found the net twice. He currently represents the England Under-21 team.
