AJ Auxerre Complete Free Transfer Signing of Defender Axel Tuanzebe
AJ Auxerre have signed defender Axel Tuanzebe on a free transfer following his departure from Burnley. The 28-year-old Democratic Republic of the Congo international has penned a one-year contract with an option for an additional season and will wear the number 4 shirt.
Tuanzebe progressed through Manchester United’s academy, experiencing loan spells at Aston Villa, Napoli, and Stoke City before joining Ipswich Town in 2023 to help them achieve promotion to the Premier League. He subsequently moved to Burnley in the summer of 2025, featuring in 14 top-flight matches last term.
Versatile enough to operate as a centre-back or right-back, Tuanzebe also represented DR Congo at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
