João Pedro Signs New Chelsea Deal Until 2034

Chelsea FC has confirmed that Brazilian forward João Pedro has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2034, underscoring the board’s confidence in the striker and its intention to build around him for the long term.

The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Brighton in July 2025 and made an immediate impact, scoring in both the semi-final and final of the Club World Cup as the Blues claimed the global title. He carried that form into his first full season in west London, finishing the 2025-26 campaign with 20 goals in all competitions and being named the club’s Player of the Season in a vote by supporters.

Speaking after putting pen to paper on the new deal, João Pedro said he was delighted to extend his stay, describing it as the fulfilment of a long-held ambition to represent a major club. He noted the strong relationships he has built with staff and teammates and said he had felt settled in London from the moment he arrived, pointing to Chelsea’s history of success and its ambitions for the future as reasons behind his commitment. He added that the squad is confident heading into the new season, praising the quality of the team and the manager’s winning pedigree, and expressed full commitment to helping the side achieve its targets.

Among the season’s highlights, João Pedro scored twice against his former club Fluminense to help send Chelsea into the Club World Cup final, then struck again in the final itself as the Blues beat Paris Saint-Germain to lift the trophy. He opened his domestic scoring account with Chelsea’s first goal of the 2025-26 season against West Ham United, and later netted the winner away at Tottenham Hotspur. In Europe, he was on target twice in a Champions League win over Napoli.

He ended the campaign as Chelsea’s standout performer in front of goal, with 20 strikes across all competitions earning him the fans’ Player of the Season honour.
