Official: Facundo Medina completes Leverkusen switch

Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of defender Facundo Medina from Marseille on a contract running until June 2031.
The 27-year-old Argentina international, who can operate at centre-back or left-back, has been handed the number two shirt by the Bundesliga side.
”Joining Leverkusen in the German league is fantastic for me,” Medina said. “During the World Cup in North America, Exequiel Palacios spoke to me a lot about the club and praised it highly, and I want to share in the successes he has achieved here.”
Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes added that Medina brings “great experience and a strong personality” to the squad.
”He excels in duels and has the ability to impose himself on the pitch,” Rolfes said.
Medina first moved to European football when he joined Lens in 2020, before completing a transfer to Marseille in 2025.
