Official: Man City appoint Maresca as new manager
Manchester City have confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as their new manager on a three-year contract.
The 46-year-old Italian leaves Chelsea to succeed Pep Guardiola, who departed after a glittering decade-long spell that brought 20 major trophies to the club.
It marks a return to Etihad Stadium for Maresca, who previously coached the club’s Elite Development Squad before serving as Guardiola’s assistant manager during the 2022-23 Treble-winning campaign.
Maresca enjoys a strong recent pedigree, having guided Leicester City to the Championship title in 2024, before moving to Stamford Bridge where he won both the Uefa Conference League and the Fifa Club World Cup with Chelsea. His managerial career also includes a spell in charge of Italian side Parma.
