Roma launch €46m bid for West Ham winger Summerville
AS Roma have launched a formal €46m (£38m) bid for West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville as they look to secure their marquee signing of the summer transfer window.
Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has identified the explosive Dutchman as his primary attacking target to reinforce the Giallorossi’s flanks ahead of the new campaign. Gasperini is eager to add Summerville’s electric pace and individual flair to a side preparing for a return to the Champions League.
The 24-year-old has already given his initial green light to the move, having progressed well in personal terms discussions with the Italian club’s representatives. The development comes despite long-standing interest from Premier League outfits Manchester United and Aston Villa.
Negotiations between Roma and the Hammers remain ongoing, with the Serie A giants pushing to finalize the deal in the coming days so the winger can join pre-season training immediately.
