Sunderland Sign Kevin Danso on Loan From Tottenham
Sunderland have bolstered their defence by signing Kevin Danso on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season, with the deal not including an option to buy, the club has confirmed.
Born in Austria to Ghanaian parents, Danso came through the MK Dons academy before returning to the continent in 2014 to join Augsburg’s academy. He went on to make 44 appearances for the German club over seven-and-a-half years, a spell interrupted by loans to Southampton and Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Danso joined Lens permanently in the summer of 2021, going on to make 128 appearances for the French club.
He then moved to Tottenham, initially on loan in January 2025 before the deal was made permanent, and has made 52 appearances for Spurs to date.
The defender has featured in all four of Austria’s matches at the 2026 World Cup and has won 36 caps for his country.
