Martial Terminates Contract with Monterrey
Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has reached an agreement with Mexican club Monterrey to terminate his contract early, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 30-year-old forward only joined the Liga MX side in September 2025, but his spell in North America has been cut short after a disappointing run of form. Martial managed just one goal and three assists in 20 appearances during his brief stint with the club.
A graduate of the Lyon academy, the Frenchman rose to prominence at Monaco before his high-profile move to Old Trafford in 2015. He also spent time on loan at Sevilla and had a brief spell with Greek side AEK Athens prior to his move to Mexico.
According to data from Transfermarkt, the forward’s current market value stands at €3.5m.
During his nine-year association with Manchester United, Martial won the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Europa League, while also lifting the UEFA Nations League with France in 2021.
