Galatasaray see Rafael Leão Loan Bid Rejected as AC Milan Demand Permanent Sale

Galatasaray have made a bold opening move for Rafael Leão, submitting a loan proposal with an option to buy according to Italian transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio. However, AC Milan have swiftly knocked back the approach, insisting they will only entertain an outright sale and completely ruling out any temporary departure for the Portuguese winger.

The standoff comes at a critical juncture in pre-season, with Leão scheduled to join up with the Rossoneri squad on July 29 during their tour of Australia. Despite his upcoming arrival, the player has already voiced his desire for a fresh start, hinting that his future lies away from San Siro after five years in Milan.

Turkish rivals Fenerbahçe have also moved to kill off speculation linking them with the wide man. The club issued an official statement firmly denying rumors of a eye-watering €100 million total package—covering both transfer fee and player salary—insisting no such offer was ever made.

Leão, who arrived in Milan back in 2019 and remains under contract until 2028, continues to command a premium valuation. Currently valued at €50 million by Transfermarkt, the attacker notched 10 goals and three assists in 31 appearances last term, ensuring Milan hold a strong bargaining position as the transfer window unfolds.
