PSG agree deal to sign Aston Villa defender Lucas Digne

Paris Saint-Germain have reached a verbal agreement with Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne over a summer transfer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The French international, 32, is set to join the Ligue 1 champions as a backup option for first-choice Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes.
PSG have reportedly informed Aston Villa of their intention to trigger Digne’s release clause, which is understood to be valued at less than €10m (£8.4m).
The move is expected to be finalized and officially announced following the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup. Digne has already agreed to his role within Luis Enrique’s squad, clearing the path for the transfer to proceed once formal procedures are completed.
Digne offers extensive high-level experience to the Parisian side, having previously played for Barcelona, Everton, and Roma, alongside earning more than 40 caps for the French national team.
