Atlético Madrid Complete Loan Signing of Juventus Striker Jonathan David
Atlético Madrid have signed Canadian forward Jonathan David on loan from Juventus for the 2026–27 season.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, David moved to Haiti before settling in Ottawa as a child, where he began his footballing journey. His early promise earned him a move to Belgian side KAA Gent in 2018, where he netted 37 goals across two campaigns.
He subsequently spent five prolific seasons with Lille, making 232 appearances, scoring 109 goals, and helping the French club capture both Ligue 1 and the Trophée des Champions before transferring to Juventus in the summer of 2025.
On the international stage, David is Canada’s all-time leading goalscorer with 42 goals, which includes three strikes at the FIFA World Cup. Known for his intelligent movement, link-up play, and versatility across the front line, he now brings his talents to La Liga.
