Tottenham agree £100m deal to sign Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali for a fee that could rise to a club-record £100m, according to David Ornstein.
Spurs are understood to have agreed an initial £92.5m package for the 26-year-old, with a further £7.5m in performance-related add-ons tied to future Champions League qualification.
The Italy international is expected to finalise the transfer in the coming days, becoming the latest major arrival in North London as manager Roberto De Zerbi continues a significant summer squad overhaul.
The deal marks another massive statement of intent from Tottenham, who only yesterday were reported to have secured the £85m signing of West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
Tonali leaves St James’ Park after making 110 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists during his spell on Tyneside.
