Manchester City agree £116m deal to sign Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson
Manchester City have confirmed they have reached an agreement to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson in a deal worth a reported £116m.
The 23-year-old is currently away on international duty with England at the 2026 World Cup and has already completed a medical examination in Kansas, USA.
The Premier League champions have stated that the official procedures for the transfer will be finalized once Anderson returns to England from the tournament.
In a club statement, City expressed their best wishes to the midfielder and the rest of the Three Lions squad for their ongoing World Cup campaign, adding that they look forward to welcoming him to Manchester in due course.
The acquisition of Anderson is a key part of City’s strategy to reinforce their midfield options ahead of the new season. His impressive performances for Forest over the past two seasons had made him a priority target for the club.
Reports indicate that Anderson has agreed to a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, with City holding an option to extend the deal by a further year. The fixed £116m fee makes him the most expensive British player in football history.
