Official: Brighton Sign Portugal U-21 Winger Rego

Brighton have signed winger Rodrigo Rego from Benfica for €3.5m.
The 21-year-old has agreed a long-term contract with the Seagulls until 2031.
Rego, who came through the academy systems at Porto and Famalicão before moving to Benfica in 2023, broke into the Portuguese giants’ first team last November when he made his debut in a 2-0 Champions League victory.
The Portugal Under-21 international went on to make his first league start four days later in a 2-1 win over Nacional, and has made five senior appearances in all competitions.
Brighton technical director Mike Cave said: “Rodrigo is a hugely talented player and we are delighted to have him join our club.
”He got his first taste of senior football last season, playing in both the league and the Champions League, which speaks volumes about his development.
”We believe we can support his continued growth and help him realise his full potential. We look forward to working with him in this new chapter.”
