Liverpool Sign Genk Goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans on Long-Term Deal

Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign 18-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from KRC Genk on a long-term contract, with the teenager immediately returning to the Belgian club on loan until the end of the 2026–27 season.
Brughmans progressed through the ranks at Genk, making 32 appearances for the reserve side before earning his senior debut in April 2026. He retained his spot in the starting XI for the remainder of that campaign, featuring in an additional 10 league matches, and has established himself as an undisputed first-choice choice this term by playing every minute of their opening four fixtures.
On the international stage, the young shot-stopper captained Belgium’s under-17 side at both the European Championship and the FIFA World Cup in 2025, and he currently wears the armband for the under-19 national team.
