Sangare signs new Nottingham Forest contract until 2029
Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until the summer of 2029.
The 28-year-old Ivory Coast international joined Forest from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2023 and has grown into a pivotal figure at the City Ground.
Sangare made 43 appearances across all competitions during the 2025-2026 season, including 14 in the UEFA Europa League as Forest reached the semi-finals, though a minor injury sidelined him for the last-four tie.
One of his standout displays came against Tottenham last December, scoring once and providing two assists before heading off to represent his country at the Africa Cup of Nations.
”I am extremely happy to renew my contract,” Sangare said. “It is also an opportunity to thank the fans who have continuously supported us, even during tough times.
”Nottingham Forest has become a family for me over the past three years. I have learned a lot and look forward to working with the new coach and the start of the season.”
Forest football executive George Sirianos confirmed the extension was a reward for the midfielder’s influence on and off the pitch.
Sirianos described Sangare as an important, highly respected member of the squad, adding that the new deal reflects a shared ambition to continue progressing in the coming years.
